The Key is To Be of Service!
I think I must have blinked because I open my eyes and notice that it's almost February already. It amazes me that time flies as fast as it does. I may have to break our my Christmas music again. As this rate it will be Christmas in a few more blinks.
Starting off the new year has led to interesting emotional reactions on my part. I set my goals for 2010. They're most action goals and a few results goals. I say that because I know I can control my actions but I can't control the results. With enough of the right actions the results will take care of themselves and may be quantified but there can never be any guarantee.
I have several ways in which I prospect. I believe that our business is largely prospecting for clients. We help buyers and seller with their real estate needs and we accomplish this by finding them. This requires a steady system of generating qualified candidates.
Prospecting - My main focus is the following:
Open houses - Very rich source here in San Francisco
Farming - Mailings to a target market. This generates quality leads. The percentage is low but the quality is very high.
Sphere of Influence: I utilize Brian Buffini referral generating method. (Not very well but it still works.)
Be sure to know you're target audience!
In whatever I do I have always approached it with the idea that every contact with the public is like a Coca Cola commercial. You're leaving an imprint in the mind. And that imprint will mean something. Overtime you become the agent of choice if you do good things and keep reminding the public that you're out there.
Interestingly enough I'm now beginning to see much fruits of my labor as a majority of my new business is coming from referrals.
Do a great job, stay focused, remember that it's a service business and ask "who can I help today." It's amazing how this business works and it's amazing how time flies. Jingle Bells!
